Hi I’m Cathryn. I’m a mum of four mostly grown-up children and the owner of Cathryn’s Stationery.I used to be a special needs support teacher but after giving birth to my daughter I developed severe back problems. This led to two emergency spine operations and left me with nerve damage, mobility issues and a lot of pain when walking. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn’t do a normal job and had to leave teaching.It took me a while to regain my walking ability and build my strength but the pain and nerve damage meant I wasn’t well enough for another “normal job”. So I decided to create a business I could run from home around my health challenges.I started thinking about what kind of business I wanted to do and set up a small office to begin making my own craft products. Shortly after, I met a lady from Scotland who ran her own stationery business and used to supply my craft business with business cards and stickers.My craft business allowed me to feel like I was making a contribution and really helped with my mental health but sadly wasn’t very profitable. Around the same time, the lady I met in Scotland decided to pursue another career and couldn’t supply me with my stationery anymore. However, we had become good friends and she taught me how to make my own. This led to her taking me under her wing and teaching me everything about business stationery. Once I had learned how to design and make all sorts of products, I decided to close my craft business and open Cathryn’s Stationery.Since then, I’ve developed a passion for creating beautiful, affordable business stationery. Custom stationery can be pricey, so I decided to open my own shop specialising in quality products at reasonable prices, catering to small businesses like mine. All of my products are designed and created around what the customer wants and, most importantly, their budget. Over the years, I’ve grown my customer base and evolved my products based on their requests. My speciality is listening to customer needs and creating them at fair prices.Our best-selling products are stickers, from logo stickers to product packaging and information stickers. They seem to be a favourite among customers. We also offer personalised invoice books, vellum wrapping sheets, business cards and logo design. I never turn customers away, so I’ll always do my best to create what they ask for.My website is still growing, so I’m adding products daily.
